The Department of Theory, History of State and Law and Philosophy of Law

The Department of Theory, History of State and Law and Philosophy of Law has a strong human resources potential. Today the staff of the Department is 10 full-time teachers. There are 2 professors of the Department, doctors of law, associate professors; 7 associate professors of the Department, of which 6 candidates of law and 1 candidate of economics; 6 of them have the academic title of associate professor, 1 senior lecturer.

According to the educational program «081 Law» (Bachelor’s degree) the Department provides such fundamental disciplines as the theory of state and law, administrative law, administrative proceedings, financial law, history of state and law of Ukraine (foreign countries), history of political and legal doctrines, the rule of law, legal deontology, the basics of Roman private law, a number of disciplines of the student’s choice and others. For the degree of «Master», the Department provides disciplines of administrative law, disciplines «Legal Families of Europe» and «Tax Law of Ukraine and the EU» for all directions of education, as well as the discipline «Public Service in Ukraine and the EU» for international law direction of education.

Teachers of the department train 5 graduates of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and teach them such disciplines as philosophy of law, problems of the theory of state and rights, history of philosophy of law.

Formation of the ability to solve complex specialized problems in the field of law with an understanding of the nature and content of its main legal institutions, as well as the mechanism of legal regulation of various social relations.

Educational program «Law» (Degree of education «Master»)

Formation of general and special competencies necessary for understanding the nature, functions and patterns of development of the legal system, legal phenomena, as well as the mechanism of legal regulation of social relations in certain areas; solving specific scientific and practical problems; conducting independent original research, obtaining results of an innovative nature of the appropriate level of professional activity.
